Twitter is making waves worldwide. Today, Twitter.jp just launched and the familiar microblogging / life streaming site looked pretty much the same except for tyhe kanji characters and graphic ads where your profile summary was supposed to be.
Alright, so they just moved your profile summary a otch down to make room for the ads. This somehow comes as a surprise to the Twittering community but according to Joi Ito of Digital Garage, the Japanese company Twitter tasked with some of the Japanese localization , Twitte.jp was going to have ads from the start.
What's wrong with ads anyway? Besides, it is easier to put ads first than put them on later which is probably what will happen to Twitter per se after they see results from this Japanese version.
