Better late than never.  YouTube will finally be rolling out their version of JustinTV, Yahoo!Live, Mogulus, Seesmic, etc. this year.

Sarah Meyer of Pop17, interviewed YouTube co-founder Steve Chen and documented some interesting news that  would be the talk of the year.  YouTube, backed by the web's largest service provider, Google, will be venturing out into territory that they do not dominate, live video streaming.

Here's the transcript of part of the interview, ...more

MyBlogLog, a social network for bloggers has overhauled their users' profile pages to include aFacebook-like lifestream.

The Yahoo owned social network started as a widget and a little social network where you couldn't do much nor told you much except who was current;y reading your blog.  Now however, they have put themselves in the lifestreaming arena along with Facebook, FriendFeed, Twitter and these guys .  Basically these services (now including MyBlogLog) keep you and your friends updated on mostly everything that's going on with you online.

The MyBlogLog feature is a whole lot similar to the Facebook NewsFeed.  However, unlike  Facebook, MyBlogLog includes updates from various social networks - blog posts, new photos, bookmarks on Delicious, Facebook updates, Twitter updates, etc. ...more

As expected, Yahoo's rejection of Microsoft's $44.6 billion offer has resulted in lawsuits from their very own shareholders.  We did report last time that the first lawsuit filed regarding the offer was actually already the second one since the real first one was a year ago when Yahoo also turned dow Microsoft's offer.

Today, Yahoo now has seven lawsuits to fight.  Yahoo says, "We do not believe, based on current knowledge, that any of the foregoing legal proceedings or claims are likely to have a material adverse effect on our financial position."

These lawsuits all claim that Yahoo should have taken the Microsoft offer and that there were errors in judgement on the Yahoo board's decisions.  Of course, those who filed the suits are just out for a quick buck. ...more

I've subscribed to the official Google blog RSS so it's really official stuff to report. It's also going all around the web news today that Google has released two new toys both for beta testing.  I didn't want to write separate intros for each so they're both in this article.

First up, Video AdSense is now in public beta.  Many companies have tried to monetize from video ads however, the common methods of prerolling or postrolliung ads within the video really get oon our nerves and the whole ad-in-video flops.  Now Google has yet again come up with a solution of delivering ads in videos without disturbing the user.  They stuck with what already works, AdSense.

Video AdSense is still the same text Ads we find everywhere except these will be overlayed on the video within the player.  It won't interfere with the video except for the space it will take up on the bottom of the screen. ...more
