It all came at mostly the same time on my feeds that Skype is down. According to Skype officials, they are experiencing some network conflict due to a patch they installed on their Windows OS.
Engineers at Skype say that the outage may last from 12 to 24 hours and due to this they have cancelled all downloads for the SKype client.
Speculations of Om Malik say that these P2P issues that are affecting Skype puts them on shaky ground. This too goes for all other web services dependent on P2P technology like Joost and BabelGum.
Skype bein the largest VoIP provider on the web, also serves smaller businesses and many other companies who in turn are the real victims of the outage.
Skype advises its users to keep their clients running so when the service comes back up the clients will too.
