If this were the dating scene, Yahoo would be the hot blonde looking for Mr Right which apparently Google, and Microsoft would be the aggressive cocky hotshot telling Yahoo she ain't gonna be happer with anybody else. Actually, it sounds more like a soap opera.
Now that Yahoo and Google are living in together , Microsoft is keeping his cool albeit feeling a little uncomfortable and probably bitter inside.
According to CNET, Microsoft is not giving the new couple its blessing.
Jack Evans, Microsoft Spokesperson, said in an interview, "Our position has been clear since April that any deal between these two companies will increase prices for advertisers and start to consolidate more than 90 percent of the search advertising market in Google's hands. Legal and industry experts agree that this would clearly make the market less competitive."
Moreover, CNET reports that "Yahoo and Google maintained that they didn't need regulatory OK to start the deal, but they have said they will wait three and a half months to give federal regulators time to 'understand' the deal." In relation to our soap opera, it's Google meeting the parents!
